PARENTS have attacked plans by education chiefs to create more classes made up of pupils from different age groups.
School board leaders accused the council of misinterpreting research into composite classes, and maintained that mixing age groups in the classroom could harm children’s education.
The angry reaction came as the council’s executive yesterday approved a move to cap pupil numbers at 35 city schools.
Around 40 parents protested against capping at the City Chambers yesterday and representatives of six school boards or parents associations made deputations.
