AMERICAN anti-war campaigner Cindy Sheehan brought her message of peace to Glasgow in front more than 150 supporters.
The 60-year-old, whose son was killed in the Iraq war, was given a standing ovation at a Bring The Troops Home rally in a city hotel.
She was joined by fellow campaigners Rose Gentle, from Pollok, Glasgow and Susan Smith, from Staffordshire, whose sons were also killed in the conflict.
The Californian activist was introduced by actress Elaine C Smith, who slammed the First Minister for not seeing them.
Jack McConnell had other engagements, but Ms Smith said: “He was too busy having his toenails painted.”
Mrs Sheehan hit the headlines this summer when she set up camp outside the texas ranch of American President George Bush, demanding he speak to her about the death of her Casey, 24.
