An Inverness policeman has been appointed liaison officer for the rapidly-expanding Polish community in the city reports the Press & Journal, Inverness is currently home to more than 8,000 Poles and the number is increasing by up to 200 every three weeks. One area of concern for the Northern Constabulary has been the high incidence of drink-driving among the Polish community, after it was found that 25% of drink-driving convictions in and around Inverness involve Poles.
Zosia Wierzbowicz-Fraser chairwoman of the Inverness Polish Association explained this by saying “Scottish police are very polite, whereas in Poland they have harsh military police”. Now it has been explained to them that politeness and courtesy are not a form of weakness it is hoped to see a reduction in those breaking the law.
Maybe its time we had harsh politically correct free policemen to deal out swift harsh justice to those that are obviously laughing at our British policemen, and send the 25% who broke the law back to Poland.
