Glasgow Airport plane quarantined

A flight from the Dominican Republic was quarantined for 90 minutes after landing at Glasgow Airport.
A total of 27 holidaymakers on the MyTravel service complained of sickness and diarrhoea.
The plane, which landed at 0500 BST, was met by doctors and consultants from Health Protection Scotland. Passengers were let away at 0630 BST after checks.

Dozens of passengers refused to take a flight from Spain to Scotland after fuel spilled from their plane before take-off.
The Flyglobespan aircraft was preparing to leave Alicante for Aberdeen when 43 of the 140 people on board decided not to take the flight.
They became concerned after fuel overflowed from the plane’s wing.

Scottish soldier shot dead in Iraq

A British soldier has been killed in Iraq after coming under small arms fire, the Ministry of Defence said.
The incident happened in Maysan Province at 0840 GMT on Monday, the ministry said.
The soldier was from the 7th Armoured Brigade, serving with the 1st Battalion The Highlanders.
